Description:
Lake Argyle was created when the Ord River was dammed in 1971. The tiny dam wall, 335m long and 98m high, holds back 10.7 million mega litres of fresh water and spans 1000 square kilometres. The lake’s islands are actually the peaks of mountains and ridges in Western Australia’s Carr Boyd Range.
