Flying Fox Colonies, Nitmiluk National Park, Northern Territory, Australia
Description:
Katherine Gorge, in the Northern Territory’s Nitmiluk National Park, is home to tens of thousands of little red and black flying fox. When the sun goes down, they set off in search of pollen, nectar, flowers and fruit, flying as far as 30km. Their role as pollinators is critical to many of Australia’s ecosystems.
