A female little red flying fox (Pteropus scapulatus ) hangs upside down in a large camp of flying fox in the Northern Territory’s Nitmiluk National Park. Her baby hangs on for dear life. Note the baby’s wing structure with the membrane stretched over its forearm, wrist, thumb and four fingers.
