Description:
Lady Elliot Island Snorkeller, Great Barrier Reef, Queensland, Australia
A snorkeller briefly swims with a loggerhead turtle resting near a coral bed on Queensland's Lady Elliot Island. In retrospect, the turtle should have been left to rest, and it should be noted that sea turtles have drowned from lack of air by divers swimming with them for too long of a period (i.e. the turtle could not come up for air.) *Scan of 35mm slide.
