A red-collared lorikeet (Trichoglossus rubritorquis) alights to examine a hole in a eucalyptus tree to see if it is suitable as a nesting hollow. A pair returned over and over to check the site in a campground in Katherine, Northern Territory, Australia. The red-collared lorikeet was once classed as a subspecies of the rainbow lorikeet (Trichoglossus moluccanus).
