A Cape Barren goose (Cereopsis novaehollandiae) forages in a field with a number of other geese, and its mate, at Flinders National Park on South Australia’s Kangaroo Island. This species was on the brink of extinction on the 1950s, but with protection and conservation initiatives its status is now secure.
