Two female Australian sea lions (Neophoca cinerea) interact after emerging from the water onto the beach at Kangaroo Island’s Seal Bay Conservation Park (South Australia). The encounter seemed friendly rather than hostile. This species is an eared seal and due to heavy hunting in the 19th century almost became extinct; it is now listed as Endangered and is one of the rarest species on earth.
