A female Australian sea lion (Neophoca cinerea) pauses during her sun bath to scratch her neck at Kangaroo Island’s Seal Bay Conservation Park (South Australia). This species is an eared seal and due to heavy hunting in the 19th century almost became extinct; it is now listed as Endangered and is one of the rarest species on earth.
