Description:
A young Australian sea lion (Neophoca cinerea), covered in sand, marches along the beach at Kangaroo Island’s Seal Bay Conservation Park (South Australia). This species is an eared seal and due to heavy hunting in the 19th century almost became extinct; it is now listed as Endangered and is one of the rarest species on earth. Because sea lions can rotate their back flippers, they are able to “walk”.
