A female Australian sea lion (Neophoca cinerea) emerges from the water at Kangaroo Island’s Seal Bay Conservation Park (South Australia). One side of her body is still wet, the other is dry. This species is an eared seal and due to heavy hunting in the 19th century almost became extinct; it is now listed as Endangered and is one of the rarest species on earth.
