Description:
The Museum of Central Australia in the Northern Territory’s Alice Springs houses a number of geological and anthropolical displays including this 1.8 metre high skeleton of a giant carnivorous bird, Gastornis. It is one of the many species of mega-fauna that roamed Australia around 50,000 years BC.
